In order to enhance compliance with HIPAA regulations, a paperless environment within MTBC\Carecloud will significantly reduce the chance of information being left unprotected. It will also diminish the unnecessary usage of space and paper within MTBC\Carecloud.
The purpose of this policy is to establish the authorization requirements for uses and disclosure of patient’s Protected Health Information (“PHI”) other than of treatment, payment healthcare operations.
To define the process of systematically documenting disclosures of PHI and providing Clients’ patients with an accounting of certain disclosures made by the Company of their PHI.
This policy applies to all employees of the Company who may be required to disclose PHI in discharge of their official duties. The policy addresses those situations in which an individual’s Personal Representative shall be treated as the individual himself/herself while exercising such individual’s rights under HIPAA. This policy also enumerates the circumstances in which a person shall not be treated as Personal Representative of an individual.
