To establish policies and procedures which ensure that the facility containing PHI is securely maintained.
To ensure that Company’s workstations are appropriately utilized and secured.

(1) proper disposal of PHI or hardware containing same
(2) the proper reuse or movement of media containing PHI
(3) proper data backup and storage of the Company’s data that contains PHI
The purposes of this SOP include:
• To provide a safe and secure environment to the employees by deterring criminal activity and reducing the fear of crime.
• To assist in the identification of individuals who commit criminal activities and damage company property.
• To assist law enforcement agencies with regard to the investigation of any crime that may occur in the organization’s premises.
To prevent unauthorized disclosure of PHI and other confidential information.
